We all have them, negative thoughts that seem to pop up out of nowhere. According to the National Science Foundation, approximately 80% of our daily thoughts are negative. That's a lot of negativity to walk around with!

How To Become Aware Of Negative Thoughts
Over time, your negative thinking has become a habit and you aren't consciously aware of all the negative thoughts that come up during your daily routine. In order to change this, awareness is key. Have you ever noticed when you're in a down mood that negative thoughts start flowing like a water fountain. This can easily make your day even worse. Your negative thought pattern could lead to anxiety or even depression if you don't get control over your thoughts.
Types of Negative Thoughts
Here are some examples:
- Thoughts that start with "I should have" or "shouldn't have"
- Over thinking
- Overly critical of yourself
- Blaming
- Jumping to conclusions
As you can see from the above examples, those types of thoughts can have a huge impact on how you view yourself, your relationships, your workplace and social activities.
Methods You Can Use To Reverse Negative Thoughts
- Meditation - Connect with your higher self
- Journaling - Write down what is bothering you
- Reinforcement - Replace a negative thought with a positive statement
